Kruse Farm Supply and Garden Center is a locally owned, 2nd generation, family-owned business located at 19904 Co. Rd. 6 in Bristol, Indiana 46507.
Steve Kruse bought out his partner, Jack Watson, in 2005 to become sole owner of Kruse Farm Center & Garden Supply. The two boyhood friends bought the business from Steve's father, Owen, when he retired in 1985. Steve's Mom, Harriet, spends her winters in Arizona, but is always on hand for the summer season and the April Open House.
A graduate of Elkhart High School, he attended Davenport Business College in Grand Rapids and is certified as an Advanced Master Gardener by Purdue University. Raised in Bristol, he has spent his life around farms, farm animals and plants. Steve is your resource to answer questions about plants, flowers, lawn programs, grass seed, vegetables and the greenhouse or to request special Season services, like leaf raking and yard cleanup. Jack Watson sold his share of the business to Steve in 2005 and pursued some of his other interests, like beekeeping and producing a local brand of honey.
In March of 2008, Jack rejoined Steve as General Manager. Like Steve, a native of Bristol, Jack can be found at his usual place behind the front counter dispensing advice and offering assistance to the many friends who are his customers.

Doreen Kauffman, a Master Gardener and lifelong resident of the Bristol area (and Jack's sister) assists customers with their needs, is the equine specialist and manages "The Corral" which is the horse supply department. She is well-qualified to answer all inquiries that horse owners may have. Email Doreen
Janet Hershberger is the office manager/bookkeeper. Daughter of Owen Kruse, founder of the business and sister of owner, Steve Kruse, she worked part time for years before becoming full time in 2002. True to her family genes, Janet enjoys landscaping her yard.
Jen Robertson has been a sales/clerical employee for a year. From Bristol,
she enjoys helping the customers to find the products and supplies they need.
Ruger Kruse is Steve's Yellow Lab and the mascot at the store. He is an expert on the many varieties of dog food available at Kruse's, as well as a treat specialist and chew toy tester.
Bob Coddens is a long-time employee who is a jack-of-all-trades, working in the yard, the greenhouses, and helping customers to load their bulk purchases.
Adam Czarnecki is our lawn care service expert who provides our busy Professional Services customers the yearound assistance with yard and garden chores, like spring and fall cleanup and fertilizing programs.
Harriet Kruse is Steve's Mom and loves to greet old friends at the yearly April Open House.
Don Sekora is our friend and local vegetable expert who helps out customers planning their spring gardens. During the busy seasons, a number of friends and relatives pitch in to take care of the crowds who come to the Spring Open House on the last Saturday of April and assist with the other sales where extra help is needed.
